The FIA Motorsport Games will be an annual event, with drivers from a variety of disciplines participating in the same venue on the same weekend under their national flag. The Motorsport Games will initially feature six categories: GT, Touring Car, Formula 4, Drifting, Karting Slalom and Digital Motorsport. Each competition will award Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, contributing to an overall medal table.
The inaugural edition of the FIA Motorsport Games will be held in autumn 2019, in Rome. It will be heralded by a spectacular opening ceremony in Italy’s vibrant capital city on 31st October, the general public and motor sport fans being at the heart of the celebrations. The action will then move to the racetrack, with the neighbouring Vallelunga circuit set to play host to three thrilling days of motor sport competition, from 1st-3rd November. The weekend culminates with a closing ceremony, during which the National Sporting Authority (ASN) or National Automobile Club (ACN) of the winning country will receive the FIA Motorsport Games trophy. The FIA has appointed SRO Motorsports Group for the promotion of the FIA Motorsport Games, with ASNs and ACNs bidding for future hosting rights in major world cities.
