After Friday night ’s FIA Prize Giving held at the Congress Center in the capital of Emilia (the night dedicated to Formula 1 to be clear), Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President, thought of dedicating an entire space on Saturday lunchtime to award the karting champions of this 2022 season

The recent full haul of the English team at the Rotax Finals, a race that - especially in the RMCGFF - rewards the driver with equal means, once again underlines the quality of the British karting nursery. A country where the Rotax movement is highly developed, but which in recent years has expressed a large number of talents who have landed in FIA competitions and, several of them, in the coveted goal of Formula 1: Lando Norris and George Russell to name a few couple, in a long list that dates back to the times when Mike Wilson and Terry Fullerton monopolized the international karting scene

As in any self-respecting competition, it was a fierce battle even in this fourth edition of the Vroom Awards promoted by Vroom to award the driver most voted via the web. The Brazilian World Champion was finally recognized also by the web movement as the Number 1 of the 2022 racing season. But as in 2021, the winners of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Portimao are confirmed among the most voted by placing as many as 3 drivers in the top 5 positions

THE 2022 SEASON WAS MARKED BY TEAM CRG’S DOUBLE VICTORY AT THE KZ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, ONCE AGAIN CONFIRMING ITSELF AS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL TEAM IN THE PREMIER CLASS. A SEASON THAT SAW THE “USUAL KNOWNS” PARADING ON THE CATWALK, BUT ALSO NEW NAMES THAT WILL GRADUALLY GO ON TO RESHAPE THE FUTURE OF MOTORSPORT.

Kart Class continues to provide more helpful tips this month with part 3 in the Vroom Academy. With over 25 years of experience racing around the world and running at the top of the field, 18 times Australian karting champion David Sera is now focused on coaching the next generation of drivers. KART CLASS is Sera’s initiative to ensure online tuition gives everyone the possibility to improve.
