The Manchester Writing Competition, comprising the Manchester Poetry Prize and Manchester Fiction Prize, invites entries for 2017. Both prizes are international and offer £10,000 to the winner. The chair of fiction judges is Nicolas Royle (pictured), and poetry, Adam O’Riordan.
•The Manchester Poetry Prize is given for a portfolio of three to five poems (combined length 120 lines) by any poet, whether new or established. Poems may be on any subject and in any style or form, and must be original and unpublished. There are no formatting requirements but the poet’s name should not appear on the manuscript. Postal entries should be accompanied by an entry form, which may be downloaded from the website. There is a fee per portfolio of £17.50, payable by debit or credit card online or by cheques made out to Manchester Metropolitan University for postal entries.
