Scottish Book Trust’s Next Chapter Award 2017, given to support a Scottish unpublished writer over forty, is open to submissions. The winner of the 2014 award, Gail Honeyman, sold her debut novel, Eleanor Oliphant, for a seven-figure sum.
The selected writer will be supported with nine months of mentoring, arranged by Scottish Book Trust. They will also receive a two-week writing retreat at Cove Park and a bursary of £2,000.
The award is open to poets, novelists, authors of narrative non-fiction and children’s authors. Writers must be over forty and must not have published a full-length work.
