We combined classic design with new ideas

When Georgia and Ian began to look for their first family home they found just the one house within their budget. ‘We’d looked at maisonettes but we ideally wanted a house with three bedrooms and a garden,’ remembers Georgia. ‘You don’t often get small houses with three rooms, and house prices were on the rise so our choice was limited. This was literally the only house which was in our price range.’ Stepping inside their house for the first time, they had to see past six decades of accumulated furniture and possessions to view the bricks and mortar for what it was. ‘Even though the house was crammed full of someone else’s stuff, because it was built in the 1950s, and I love that era, there were many elements
