It’s March and the Your Home team are full of the joys of spring. After a cold, snowy winter most of us are ready to fill our homes with colour and pattern and in this issue we’ve got lots of stylish, affordable ideas to inspire you. On page 37 you’ll find our round-up of the four key trends from the high street for the home this season. Whether you prefer coastal, botanical, ethnic or retro, you’re sure to find a style to suit your home. And for those of you who prefer florals, you’ll love Richard Randall’s Style File this month (p.20) explaining how to give floral colour schemes a fresh new painterly look for spring. If your spare room has become a bit of a dumping ground over recent months, then take a look at our three stunning makeovers (p.24) where you’ll find lots of creative and stylish ways to turn this under-utilised space into a practical, multi-tasking room that works as a study, craft room and guest bedroom all rolled into one. Talking of crafts, we’ve got some lovely Easter-inspired projects for you in our You Can Do It section (p.59), plus a fantastic Furniture Facelift upcycling project on page 62. Meanwhile on page 66 our DIY guru Becky Clarke gives us her foolproof tips for assembling flat-pack furniture. As well as Easter at the end of the month, Mother’s Day falls on March 10th and you’ll find some delicious recipes to bake on page 100 to give your Mum the perfect teatime treat. March also sees the first of the spring bank holidays and the clocks go forward too giving us a bit more daylight, so it’s a great excuse to get out in the garden and start getting it into shape. On page 114 we take a look at the latest plant introductions for 2013 to add colour and interest to your flower borders and veg garden. Enjoy the spring sunshine and have a happy Easter!
