Australian Railway History  |  June 2015
The June issue of Australian Railway History features Part 2 of David Fletcher's article, 'The Art and Architecture of NSW Baldwin locomotives' that presents his outstanding color drawings of the K and L Classes of Mogul locomotives, the O Class 4-6-0s and the impressive 'Big' J Class 2-8-0 engines. Details of the designs of these locomotives and their operation on the NSW Railways are covered.
Neil Lyall's account of his experiences as a trainee engine driver over the country lines of north-west NSW during the 1977 wheat season in his well-illustrated article also provide interesting reading. An 'Explorer' section of 'The Legacy of A Steam Train Passes' and readers' letters round off the issue.
