When you think of the future, what first springs to mind? Flying cars and talking robots? Or, maybe you’ve always envisioned a balmy utopia of warmer weather? Building an image of a futuristic world inside our minds is a fun fantasy, but, it’s more often than not, overly optimistic. As we’re battling to stop the Earth’s temperature from rising, humanity is divided about what to do. Some are happy to brush the global issues that threaten our planet under the rug, while the rest of us are left to pick up the pieces, which raises the question – what does the future really look like?
Some say the answer is turning back the clock – ditching single-use items, reusing what we have until it breaks and then fixing it, and moving away from our tech-dependent lives. Others say the issues lie in the bigger picture, and we need new innovations and technologies to save us from the fate we’re driving full-throttle towards.
