IT was a battle of Boxing Academies as White Hart Lane took on East London in a team match at the former outfit’s base in Wood Green. The visitors won 4-2 with the biggest splash made by Abdul Samad Fazil. The powerful middleweight scored his third firstround stoppage as he handed two counts and a cut lip to Masima Sitole (Cuban, guesting for White Hart Lane) in a Development threetwos. A left hook stumbled Sitole for the first count, then a left-right brought another toll. When yet another big attack had Sitole dazed, his corner offered a towel and it was halted. Also on the March 30 show in the other Senior contest (also three-twos) Stonebridge’s Michael Yanni beat Muhammed Sharif via split at 71kgs. A right floored Sharif in the first but he battled back to bloody Yanni’s nose in a competitive meeting. Busy White Hart Lane Junior Juplin Tshikeva (67kgs) unanimously beat strong but crude Hussain Hamza, whose cause wasn’t helped by a warning for a low head in round two. RESULTS Schoolboys: PADDY McDONAGH (WHL) outpd Mark Butler (Rumbles) split, KEITH INGLIS (Rumbles) outpd Jurell DC Green (WHL) split.
