Buying Your First Holiday Home  |  Your First Holiday Home 2019
Buying a holiday home opens up a whole new world of leisure living.
A holiday home is your own place in your favourite region of country or coast... Your base for activities, for family gatherings, for relaxing in the sun, for cosy evenings in.
Holiday homes come in a huge variety of sizes, types, styles and prices. The pages of this magazine will give you a very clear idea of what your money can buy.
In the main, the holiday home market divides itself into two sectors of terminology. That’s ‘holiday homes’ and ‘lodges’. In days of yore, ‘holiday homes’ were called static caravans. That phrase has gone out of fashion, pushed aside as the industry surges forward, raising its game and enhancing the appeal of the concept of owning your own holiday home. The word ‘static’ is still in use – although not prevalent. Call them what you will, the accepted definition of a ‘holiday home’ is a unit 12ft-14ft wide and around 20ft-40ft long.
Lodges are roughly twice the width and can be as long at 52ft long. Enormous, then! And luxurious.
So, that’s a quick overview… How about something completely different? We’ve discovered an entirely new holiday home concept. Think small, think almost cute, think awesomely cleverly designed and you are going in the right direction. In the making of this magazine I went to Northumberland, where Tiny Eco Homes are built, to find out more about these two-storey inventions. The details are inside this issue. Whatever size, style and type of holiday home you go for, let this magazine be your guide to homes, to parks and to the super lifestyle that you’ll enjoy!
