SOWING SUNSHINE
If you are looking for a low maintenance plant to cheer your garden and bloom all summer and through into the autumn, look no further than this week’s free seeds. Poached egg plant (Limnanthes douglasii) is a delightful hardy annual that grows in a low clump and does particularly well at the edge of paths and borders and in rockeries. The plant is named for its sweet flowers that have a yolky yellow centre fringed with white. Given the right conditions, they can
bloom from June right through to late September and do best in light, freedraining soil and a sunny position.
