The ritual of an everyday carry dump where friends empty out their pockets and show off their various everyday carry items- knives, techy card/money clips, nano-flashlights and tactical pens-is a tradition that is as old as pockets and typically involves a healthy round of one-upmanship.

But the esteemed ceremony rarely takes place among a group of women. Whomever created the social norms or societal constructs that has confined this ritual to a man-only parade of show-and-tell has never seen the inside of a well-heeled woman’s purse. Even the smallest clutch is a cavernous enclave of everyday useful gadgets and implements geared to handle the morass of life’s struggles. From the everyday annoyances like ripping her skirt to mom issues, such as wiping a kid’s nose or having a piece of candy, the purse provides.
