Sometimes, it’s just not practical or possible to carry all of your EDC gear discreetly on your person. If your EDC gear includes a firearm, the best way to carry that firearm is somewhere on your body. But maybe you’re heading to the beach and don’t want to carry in your board shorts. Maybe your slim-fit outfit won’t allow for a holstered firearm. Or maybe you’re going to the range and need to pack more than just a weapon and spare mag. In those cases, keeping your weapon close and accessible in a pack or bag is preferrable to leaving it home.

A bag—whether a purse, backpack, sling bag, waist pack, pouch or even messenger bag— allows you to covertly carry what you need when you need it and then some. Designers have created all sorts of styles to cater to different tastes and preferences. Many feature pockets for smart phones and electronic devices. They have spaces for water bottles, keys, your pocketknife, sunglasses, flashlight and wallet. And if you’re heading to the range, some bags have room for all your ammunition, earphones and other safety devices.
