Obviously, the prevailing temperament in the country would go with “finally”, but I’m going to break from the herd and go with ”already.” I say this because, on many levels, this has been a huge year for learning, observation, validation and growth. If you were concerned about how your planning and preps would do in challenging or extreme circumstances, this has been a good year to test them.

Considering the information-gathering part of your comms plan, how did your sources do? While lots of messages, messengers and perceptions have changed during the year, were you able to find the information and credible sources you needed to make adjustments on the fly? If so, you had a good plan—something to be proud of in today’s “anything goes as news if it increases viewership” environment.
