AUCTION houses in France have been announcing their first half-year sales figures.
Artcurial chalked up €122.5m for sales in their Paris, Deauville, Lyon and Toulouse rooms, representing a 6% increase on the equivalent period last year. A quarter of revenues were provided by a 1957 Ferrari which sold at Rétromobile in February for a premium-inclusive €32.1m.
Christie’s Paris sales from January to June came in at €112m. Six of their 10 highest prices were drawn from the June 8-9 auction of works from the Marcie-Rivière collection.
