Launched last year by Kate and Mike Button of Blackdog Antiques in the pretty north Suffolk town of Halesworth, the monthly Halesworth Brocante, held in the Old Print Works, has become become a regular and popular fixture.
“The town has a real buzz about it on brocante Saturdays,” says Kate. “We have on average 40 brocanteurs selling vintage gardening tools [see picture right], jewellery, ceramics and glassware, vintage clothes, 1950s-60s homewares, wall art and small pieces of antique furniture. It’s a very popular market, including to the trade.”
The next Halesworth brocante, organised as an initiative with the Halesworth and Blyth Valley Partnership to promote trade in the town, is on Saturday, May 6. A 100-stall antiques street market also takes place in the town on Monday, August 28, the summer bank holiday. For enquiries contact brocantehalesworth@gmail.com
