Lots Road Auctions has been in the same premises since it was founded by owner Roger Ross in 1979.

The establishment is well known among the Chelsea set and was even the star of the Channel Four show The Auction House. But changes are afoot.

Nick Carter, manager and senior auctioneer, sat down with Laura Chesters to discuss the firm’s future.

Roger Ross was described in the Daily Mail as ‘a man who makes Basil Fawlty seem relaxed and easy-going’. How do you get on?

He is like my second father. We have a great relationship and we trust and respect each other. He trusts me to get on with things.
