Whitford Fine Art’s ongoing exhibition Trans-Channel Crossing brings together works by four artists, two from the UK and two from Continental Europe, who lived and worked in both places after the Second World War.
The timely show is described by the gallery as commenting on art and culture transcending national borders.
Among the sales have been an abstract oil by Caziel, which went for a price between £20,000 and £30,000 to a US collector and a work by Lacasse, which went to a London-based client for a price between £50,000 and £60,000. Clients from Europe have also bought at the exhibition, where the overall price range is from £10,000-100,000.
