Artist shows his love of Aldeburgh musical magic

Rebuilding the Snape Maltings Concert Hall, 1967, by Cavendish Morton (1911- 2014). This 14 x 2ft 4in (36 x 71cm) watercolour will be offered by John Day of Wickham Market at Lomax Fairs in Southwold on August 25-27, priced at £2450.

Cavendish Morton became prominent as a landscape artist after the Second World War, focusing on pastoral and maritime themes, particularly in East Anglia, where he moved with his family in 1946.

Morton’s love of classical music also saw him become chairman of the Aldeburgh Festival.
