Anglesey Landscape IV,

, is one of around 30 works included in Tom Gerrard’s (1923-76) upcoming retrospective at Oriel Tegfryn Gallery in Menai Bridge (October 20-November 12).
Gerrard was born in Anglesey, which serves as the subject matter for many of his works. Though he pursued a career as a civil servant he devoted much of his spare time to painting. Kyffin Williams was a friend and admirer and the two bought works from each other. However, it was not until 1975, the year before his death, that one of Gerrard’s works was accepted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
All works at Oriel Tegfryn are from the artist’s estate, including many which have never previously been offered for sale. It includes oil paintings and pen and ink drawings from the 1950s to the 1970s.
