Highlighting the next photographs auction at Doyle, New York, on December 14 is an Ansel Adams Museum Set comprising 75 gelatin silver prints of the most famous images, each with a pencil signature, from the legendary photographer.
Adams (1902-84) was the pre-eminent 20th century photographer of Western landscapes, and one of the seven founding members of the influential Group f.64.
Prepared several years before Adams’ death, this set is among the most comprehensive known to exist, with others more typically smaller, of 25-50 images.
