Abbott & Holder’s upcoming exhibition features the work of two 20th century female wood engravers: Clare Leighton and Gwen Raverat.
Running from April 19-May 12, the show coincides with the LOPF, where the Museum Street, London, gallery will also be standing.
British-born Leighton (1898-1989) wrote and illustrated books praising the virtues of the countryside and the people who worked the land. Trained at the Slade and later the Central School of Arts and Crafts, she relocated to the US in the 1930s.
