Stroud Auction Rooms has moved into a grade-II listed property in the Gloucestershire market town while securing a second site for future expansion.
The family firm, founded in 2004 and owned and run by head auctioneer Nick Bowkett, has more than trebled its floor space by moving into the 18th century Lightpill Mill, just 150 yards from its former site that is now being redeveloped as a supermarket.
The 10,000 sq ft floor space in the new building allows for a larger reception area, increased storage facilities and improved display. In the advance of the first auction at the building on June 13-15, Bowkett said: “The increased space will allow lots to be displayed much more effectively.”
