Jaguar back at Kedelston

The seat of the Curzon family, the present Kedleston Hall, near Derby was designed in 1759 for Sir Nathaniel Curzon by the Palladian architects James Paine and Matthew Brettingham. A then unknown classical architect Robert Adam was working on designs for garden temples and follies which so impressed Curzon that he put him in charge of the construction of the mansion.

Now owned by the National Trust, the hall is the backdrop for Jaguar Fairs’ biannual Antiques in the Park with the first this year running over three days of Friday June 22 to Sunday June 24. Organiser Alan Cartwright says that bookings for the large marquees, where standholders share the costs, are up this year.
