This is the bet the American-Irish collector Brian P Burns said he made with himself before he went on to amass one of the largest collections of art from the Emerald Isle.
It took over 40 years to build, incorporating the work of artists spanning from the 18th century to the present day and at its peak reached nearly 200 pictures.
