Two film props from Gerry Anderson’s The Investigator are to go under the hammer at Sworders in Stansted Mountfitchet on October 10.
A pilot for the series was made in 1973 but it was never commercially released. It follows the exploits of a boy and a girl, John and Julie, who are miniaturised by a powerful being from another galaxy and sent on a mission to stop a corrupt tycoon from stealing a priceless work of art.
A model eight-wheel car (pictured) and speedboat, have been on display at the ‘House on the Hill Toy Museum’ in Stansted Mountfitchet for a number of years. The models were designed by Reg Hill who created props for both Stingray and Captain Scarlet. The pair are guided at £6000-8000 each.
