New Olympic record breaker

A copy of the 1892 Olympic Manifesto made an auction record for sports memorabilia when it was hammered down for $7.5m (£5.73m), writes Frances Allitt.

It was offered at Sotheby’s Fine Books and Manuscripts auction on December 18 with an estimate of $700,000-1m. With premium added the price was $8.8m.
