YOUNG athletes from Mid Argyll travelled to Glasgow to compete against more than 100 other teams from all over Scotland in a national competition at the Emirates Arena.
Mid Argyll Athletics Club entered two girls teams and one boys team in the National Under 12s Superteams competition on Sunday January 5.
Girls team A: Maisie Gilmour, Rose MacCallum, Erin Naisby and Holly Gilthorpe.
The boys team - Murray MacDonald from Lochgilphead, Callum Green from Ardrishaig, Keiran Blair from Tarbert and Roan McVicar from Tighnabruaich - finished 29th overall out of 51 teams. Murray was the top Mid Argyll athlete with an individual points score of 50, which was only surpassed by another three boys out of a total of 204 boys.
Murray ran the 60 metres in 9.5 seconds, then recorded 3.71 metres in the long jump and rounded off an outstanding performance with 6.38 metres in the shot putt.
