Defibrillator used after worker falls ill

A WORKER at an Argyll fish plant was airlifted to hospital last week after receiving first aid from a quick-thinking colleague.

Though unwilling to reveal details, the Scottish Salmon Company confirmed an employee fell ill at its Cairndow plant last week. The worker is believed to have been found by a manager at the factory, who then acted quickly to treat the man using a defibrillator before calling for an ambulance. The casualty was taken by air ambulance to hospital, and is now understood to be recuperating.
