SWIMMERS from Mid Argyll are to hold a swimathon later this month in a bid to raise much-needed funds.
In the first event of its kind for Mid Argyll Dolphins, the swimathon will be held on Thursday March 30, with juniors taking to the pool between 5pm and 6pm and seniors from 6pm until 7pm.
Swimmers will tackle a target distance of 2,000m – equivalent to 100 laps of the MACPool. Club members are hoping to raise funds through sponsorship towards a badly-needed new boiler for Mid Argyll Community Pool also for a printer at the MS centre in Lochgilphead. If anyone would like to donate funds to the young swimmers, these can be left at the pool.
