Buyers and sellers descend on Dalmally - prices up on year

UNITED Auctions held its annual May sale at Dalmally Auction Mart.

A catalogued entry of 447 cattle and 238 sheep from all over Argyll and Bute sold to a packed ringside of buyers from throughout the country on Saturday May 6.

Bullocks sold to an average of £825.10 per head or 271.62 pence per kilo against £802.77 or 250.93 pence per kilo at the corresponding sale last year.

Heifers sold to an average of £757.16 per head or 252.02 pence per kilo against £689.08 per head or 229.31 pence per kilo last year.
