Animals suffer fireworks distress

Sir,

There has been a bit of information on the dangers to livestock and forestry from Chinese lanterns in the press recently.

People should also be aware by now that fireworks are very distressing for animals. But still there are people in Lochgilphead who think it is not only acceptable to let off fireworks in a field of sheep but to then leave all of the rubbish, debris, plastic bags and beer bottles behind.
