TORRENTIAL rain took its toll on the bowls at a sodden Stronvaar green.
Campbeltown Bowling Club hosted the Robert Leishman Memorial Fours competition last Saturday, with 21 teams competing on a day that started with dry, cold and overcast conditions and ended in torrential rain.
The green was well paced for one of the club’s blue riband events, sponsored by R Leishman and Son, and only slowed because of the constant rain.
Decisive factor
This proved to be a decisive factor in the final between the Lochgilphead four of John Martin, George Annan, Jamie Lang and Jamie McLean and the local quartet of Gavin McLachlan, Bobby Mathieson, Jim Morrison and John McLachlan.
