SENIOR Lochgilphead Joint Campus students were visited by a representative from the Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Trust recently.
The visit followed a talk the week before encouraging pupils to sign up to become potential donors for the trust and perhaps save someone’s life. Members of the local fire and rescue team, along with other trust members, came to the school to register the students.

Firefighter John Sweeney, a former pupil, was delighted with the response rate as 60 per cent of eligible pupils signed up, compared with the national average of 40 per cent. The team will be back in two years to sign up a new group of volunteers.
