Arrests made after weekend of violence

TWO MEN have been arrested after violent attacks in Dunoon at the weekend left two men in hospital with serious injuries.

The first attack took place sometime between 8pm on Saturday April 8 and half past midnight, although it wasn’t until the following morning that officers were notified by medical staff at Cowal Community Hospital that a 20-year-old man had received treatment for serious injuries, inflicted by a bladed weapon.

Detectives believe this may relate to a disturbance within a flat in John Street, Dunoon. A 26-year-old man was arrested and detained for a court appearance. Inspector Douglas Wilson, Dunoon CID, said: ‘I am asking anyone with any information to contact us.
