A LOCHGILPHEAD man has been fined £200 and his licence endorsed with four penalty points after he appeared at Campbeltown’s Justice of the Peace Court.
William James Holmes, 47, of 43 McDonald Terrace, pleaded guilty to driving at 85 miles per hour on the A83, exceeding the 60 miles per hour speed limit at Achnafad, near Tayinloan. Procurator fiscal depute Eoin McGinty said: ‘He has no previous convictions. The charge speaks for itself.’
JP Richard Scott reduced the fine from £300 and the penalty points from six for Holmes’ early guilty plea.
