Support shinty

Young Mid Argyll shinty players just want to play the game and test themselves against the best possible opposition. That they are being obstructed in this seems ridiculous and two things seem clear from the debacle.

Support for our native sport has to be beefed up by the Camanachd Association and within our schools with the enthusiastic backing of Argyll and Bute Council. Volunteers seem to be working against the tide rather than with the wind at their backs. Shinty is a great sport and a part of our culture that must be seen as valuable by Argyll and Bute’s decision makers.
