CAN you tell your rowan from your birch? Then Woodland Trust Scotland wants to hear from you about a voluntary role it has available.
It is looking for a seed collector to examine Crinan Woods and find interesting seeds for a seed bank at London’s Kew Gardens.
Volunteer manager Kylie Knight said: ‘There are many threats facing our native trees and shrubs, and we need to do all we can to safeguard their future. These seed collections will support research and conservation work to better protect and understand our trees. If you think you can tell your ash from your oak and want to make a valuable contribution to safeguarding the UK’s precious trees, become a seed collection champion.’
