ISLAY Community Hospital’s accident and emergency department has exceeded the Scottish Government’s national waiting time target.
Key performance data revealed that of the 97 people who attended the department in January, 100 per cent were seen, treated and discharged or admitted within four hours. Donald Watt, the locality manager for Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay Adult Services said: ‘100 per cent is a remarkable statistic considering the Scottish Government’s target of 95 per cent. The A&E staff provide an excellent service to the communities of Islay and Jura. I would like to thank all nursing and medical staff within the hospital for providing outstanding services.’
