LIBRARIES these days are bright, hightech and welcoming places.
Last Friday, Lochgilphead library demonstrated just how far these establishments have moved from the old-fashioned vision of fusty places filled with dust-covered books and spiky librarians guarding the silence like cardigan-wearing rottweilers.
The aroma of cream cakes and coffee met library visitors as staff embraced the spirit of the Wear it Pink campaign in support of breast cancer charity Breast Cancer Now.
Youngsters Emma Carey and Lewis Robertson have great fun with the pink balloons as mums Helen Carey and Lindsey Pollock enjoy the party.

More than 50 people of all ages came along to enjoy the fun, which included pink bunting and balloons, delicious baking made by library staff and plenty of chat.
