Crows are scared off in Ormsary

THERE were no crows to be seen for miles along the Kilberry road thanks to a number of homemade scarecrows on display during the Ormsary Scarecrow Festival over the Easter weekend.

A steady stream of revellers drove along the single track B8024 to Kilberry on Easter Monday to see the scarecrows for themselves, before popping into Ormsary Hall for a cuppa, a bowl of soup and delicious homebaking.

Achahoish Primary School pupils were on hand to wash cars and hold the fort at the ‘nearly new’ table in aid of the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
