Council backs motion to stay in EU

ARGYLL and Bute Council threw its weight behind the Scottish Government’s efforts to protect Scotland’s place in the European Union (EU) following the recent vote to leave.

At the full council meeting on June 30, councillors backed the motion, moved by Councillor James Robb, welcoming Scotland’s vote to remain in the European Union, recognis ing the contribution of EU citizens living in the country and mandating the Scottish Government to have discussions with EU institutions.
