Mid Argyll competitors hit all the right notes at Islay Mòd

THE SUN was shining on the beautiful Isle of Islay for the 2017 provincial Mòd.

There was plenty of Mid Argyll interest across the classes at the festival of Gaelic culture on Saturday September 2.

Eilidh Graham of Lochgilphead won the Bank of Scotland Cup and a gold badge for solo singing, girls 13- 15 years. She also received a silver badge for second place in 18 years-and-under solo singing of a prescribed song.

Alasdair MacLean secured a first in vocal and piping competitions, while Angus MacLean also won first place in the boys 13-15 years class.

The adjudicators could not choose between Tiegan Holroyd and Holly Renton and Abbie Morris and Elizabeth MacMillan-Currie in the duet singing for boys and girls category, awarding the Mod Ile Cup to both pairs as first equal.
