Brodick Church members and friends have had a very busy fortnight, hosting the annual church fete and auction, and raising more than £5,000 towards church funds.
On Saturday July 22 they held their annual fete which was the best attended fete for several years. Many people and businesses had very generously donated loads of goods for the various stalls, which were quickly snapped up by locals and visitors alike, as reported in last week’s Banner.
Then on Thursday July 27 the venue changed from the church and hall to Brodick Golf Clubhouse where the annual church auction took place. Again the turnout was excellent, and a packed clubhouse was soon whipped up into a bidding frenzy by Nicol Hume, the evening’s persuasive auctioneer.
