Sunshine and gleaming chrome brings busiest ever motorcycle show

With temperatures nearing the 30s and more than 55 motorcycles and vehicles on display, the Arran Heritage Museum enjoyed its busiest event of the season at their annual motorcycle show.

A large assortment of gleaming machines, from pre-war vintage models to modern marvels with sophisticated electronics, filled the museum lawn and spilled over into the adjacent gardens.

Creating a pleasant atmosphere, the Arran Jazz Cafe Band provided the crowds with soothing and upbeat jazz music while the visitors mulled over the machines on display. With many of the owners being on hand to answer any questions, visitors could not only look at the motorcycles but also find out a bit about their history, quirks and provenance. Included in the line-up were the usual big-name contenders and also some classics like Norton, Triumph, BSA and a Velocette from 1937, owned by Paul Williams and winner of the best in show and the people’s choice vote.
