More than 50 delegates, including women from Arran, Argyll, Islay, Bute and Mull, attended the inaugural Women in Agriculture event in Argyll and the Islands, held in Lochgilphead last week.
Guest speaker
Attendees heard from guest speaker Joyce Campbell, a Sutherland sheep farmer, winner of the inaugural AgriScot Scottish sheep farm of the year award in 2015 and currently joint chair of the Scottish Government women in agriculture task force. The conference was chaired by Sarah Allison, vice-chair of the National Farmers’ Union Scotland (NFUS) new generation group and member of the newly created national council of rural advisers.
