The Scottish Government’s draft budget for 2017/18 will mean a £9.2 million cut to North Ayrshire Council’s revenue budget.
The SNP government received a £415 million revenue increase for 2017/18 from the UK budget consequentials but the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICE) briefing on the draft budget notes a cash cut of £424 million for local government’s revenue budget for 2017/18.
Council leader Joe Cull-inane said: ‘The draft budget has been analysed and, as I stated, it is bad news for North Ayrshire Council. A cut of £9.2 million, on the back of a cut of around £10 million last year, is unacceptable.
