This month (July) Corrie Film Club presents Suffragette (UK 2015, Cert 12, 105 minutes), a moving drama exploring the passion and heartbreak of those who risked all they had for women’s right to vote – their jobs, their homes, their marriages and even their lives.
Maud, played by Carey Mulligan, is a working mother drawn into the fight for women’s rights. She and her friends become foot soldiers in Mrs Pankhurst’s early feminist movement.
This inspiring and gripping film also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep and Ben Wishaw.
