Roaming caravan rolls into Arran

A moving arts installation which takes place inside a roaming caravan will be visiting Arran next week as part of The Grief Series.

Taking place on Arran for two days starting on Thursday June 21, the installation, which is housed in a beautifully designed domestic caravan, will travel around Arran encouraging visitors to engage in the histories of grief and remembrance. There will also be an event at the Auchrannie, which will include a talk by the artist herself, Ellie Harrison, a Glasgow-based artist and an academic, all three of whom will discuss their ideas of ‘what is a father’, and will encourage conversation around this concept with interested locals who will have been invited to join them. Ellie’s father spent time as a child in Pirnmill. He was absent from Ellie’s life, but her mother recently shared with her a map of Arran on which her father had written annotations of locations on the island which had connections to his family and friends.
