THE ARRAN BANNER 20 YEARS AGO Saturday February 14, 1998

Toeing the line

Yellow lines are on the way. The idea has been proposed and fought against for many years. But as traffic problems have grown in Brodick, pressure to use the normal means of marshalling car users has increased. A report will go shortly to North Ayrshire Council outlining exactly where it is suggested that the yellow lines ought to be.

They would be in two areas, around the shops in Brodick and around the pier. At the pier the lines would extend some distance along the main road in both directions and cover all areas except at the restricted parking.
